Gary Johnson Is Not A Mormon

Pretty much from the start of this blog, the most common searches that hit me are asking whether the Republican candidates for President, especially Gary Johnson, are Mormons. Even though I have personally seen former Governor Gary Johnson in a Mormon Church at an Eagle Scout Dinner, he is not Mormon. Just to set the record straight, here is the definitive list:

Gary Johnson . . . Not Mormon (possibly a follower of the Peyote religion.)

Rick Santorum . . . Not Mormon (he's Catholic, people - and not of the "liberation theology" or "social gospel" wing.)

Rick Perry . . . Not Mormon (in fact, we're waiting for his Southern Christian to come out anti-Romney.)

Newt Gingrich . . . Not Mormon (Reformed Amphibian.)

Herman Cain . . . Not Mormon (Chilean Baptist.)

Michelle Bachmann . . . Not Mormon (that should be obvious. Although she does sound a lot like Gayle Ruzicka and she's certainly got the "crazy" of an Enid Greene.)

Ron Paul . . . Not Mormon (Randian Galtist - if he were Mormon, that would make him a Skousenite.)

Mitt Romney . . . Mormon

Jon Huntsman . . . Mormon

President Obama . . . Not Mormon (not Muslim either. Get a clue, people!)

And none of the also-rans or no-shows are Mormon, i.e., Huckabee, Trump, Pawlenty, Palin, Christie, Barbour. Did I miss anybody? I'll let you know if I see any of them at church.

ADDENDUM:
My Mormon History blogger friend at Keepapitchinin has made an interesting historical connection with that one guy who's not a Muslim. Check it out: http://www.keepapitchinin.org/2009/05/06/a-mormon-in-the-family-tree/comment-page-1/#comment-103038
