The second painting struck me as a hopefully happy Fairy Tale. It's an unusual work that I don't know that I've ever seen. My Aunt said he gave it to them when she and my Uncle were married and it's dated 1956 so that's a match. My Dad was still in school taking art classes at BYU so it may have been a specific assignment to paint trees. My Dad's Welsh blood may have subconsciously percolated to produce an entrance to the domain of the Tylwyth Teg, the Fair Folk, who occasionally spirit away the sons and daughters of men and women into mysterious realms:
